Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys began over twenty years ago with a reputation for excellence. Their stunningly clean and cohesive performance of Cajun French music from the backwaters of Southwest Louisiana propelled them into the world music limelight early on, and by their third release had garnered them a Grammy nomination in the worldwide field of traditional folk music, another in 2004, and then another in 2009. Opening act: Nikolas Metaxas (Cyprus)

Nikolas is a singer/songwriter/composer born in the United States who grew up on the island of Cyprus. Nikolas' greatest talent is his rare ability to capture listeners at his acoustic performances with his raw emotion and poignant songwriting. Currently he has accepted a scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, one of the most renowned music schools in the world. While furthering his musical education, Nikolas will be working to expand his music into a full band setting.

Francophonie 2010 is dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives during Haiti’s recent earthquake, and to the rebuilding efforts of those who survived.  During the festival, we offer our patrons two ways to contribute to the ongoing reconstruction in Haiti:
 
-- For every Francophonie festival event ticket purchased through InstantSeats, patrons have the opportunity to make a $10 contribution
-- The Grande Fête will feature the raffle of two roundtrip tickets to Tahiti, with all proceeds designated for Haitian relief
 
Funds collected will be given to the American Red Cross to support their campaign to help the people of Haiti renew their country.  Thank you for your generous help.
